As part of the professional development team at KQED Education, I was tasked with leading both in-person and online workshops, trainings, and presentations for K-12 educators and administrators. As a former teacher, getting to engage with my colleagues and support them in their professional journeys was one of the best parts of my job.

I pride myself on being an enthusiastic, engaging, and funny presenter, viewing the role of workshops as not only imparting knowledge but also spreading positive energy and motivation to teachers and librarians.

Seeing teachers leave my sessions excited to try new approaches and use new tools in their classrooms is one of the best feelings.
Getting to work with students is another way to keep me grounded in my practice. I had the pleasure of leading two workshop series for the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro, supporting teens in creating their first photo essays and audio stories that were later shared on KQED’s Youth Media Challenge.
