I’m quite excited about the new Digital Civics Toolkit, a suite of educational resources to “support youth to explore, recognize, and take seriously the civic potentials of digital life.” A project that grew out of the MacArthur Research Network on Youth and Participatory Politics, the Digital Civics Toolkit is organized into five sections:
- Participate
- Investigate
- Dialogue
- Voice
- and Action
Each section has as conversation starter, a themed activity, a closing reflection, and teacher background. Basically everything you might need to get young people exploring and engaged with digital citizenship.
Definitely check it out if you are looking for ways to engage young people (or anyone) in thinking about being a more engaged citizen in the digital age.
