I'm excited to announce that the California Academy of Sciences will be unveiling our latest planetarium show, "Habitat Earth" on January 16 in the Morrison Planetarium. This beautiful animated show has audiences "dive below the ocean’s surface to explore the dynamic relationships found in kelp forest ecosystems, travel beneath the forest floor to see how Earth’s tallest trees rely on tiny fungi to survive, and journey to new heights to witness the intricate intersection between human and ecological networks."
I like how the show combines stunning and beautiful imagery, real-time data, and a strong storyline connecting life across the planet, from the most micro level to the most macro. And its got cute animated otters!
UPDATE JANUARY 16, 2015: Just saw the final version of the show in the planetarium dome. So so good! Definitely worth a trip to the Academy to see it!
"Habitat Earth" is showing several times at day at the California Academy of Sciences, starting January 16. See www.calacademy.org for schedules and more info.
