Alex: Why does it have to be a "competition" when you have us make stuff?
Me: It's to motivate you to do your best. People like competitions.
Alex: But we already work hard, whether you make it a competition or not. Besides, you always give the winning team the choice of which snack we get for our next session. Why don't we all just agree as a group on what snack we all want?
Me: But then the winning team doesn't get their favorite thing.
Alex: Yeah, but we're going to be sharing whatever they get anyway. So it's better if it's something we all like.
Me: Your logic defeats me again, Alex.
