I'm so pleased to share the news that the California Academy of Sciences was recognized by disability support group The ARC SF as "Employer of the Year." With 6 interns and 4 employees with disabilities on staff, the Cal Academy was praised for our "commitment to creating an inclusive work environment."
According to Academy executive director Jon Foley, "Over the last two years, we have built a fully integrated job development pathway for individuals with disabilities ranging from youth to adulthood. This program not only helped diversify the talent in our workforce, but we’ve found it has a profound positive effect on staff morale."
Watch this heart-warming video of some awesome employees at the Academy and other Bay Area institutions.
