In just a couple of weeks, The Mix at the San Francisco Public Library is opening! The Mix is a youth-designed teen center open just for teens (ages 13-18) to hang out, explore technologies, work together, and learn from educators from around the Bay Area, including the California Academy of Sciences, the Bay Area Video Coalition, Girls Who Code, and more.
The grand opening will be on Thursday June 18 from 11am-8pm.
Hours of The Mix: Tuesday thru Thursday 1pm-8pm. Friday 1-6pm. Saturday 12-6pm.
I’m super excited about this new youth space in downtown San Francisco. The Cal Academy youth leaders will be piloting various activities at The Mix this Summer, including our TechTeens and the Teen Advocates for Science Communications. Kids will learn about science, explore different social media, and get to express their views on important scientific debates.
